why you should respect mark lee — a passive aggressively made thread
if you don’t know who he is, mark lee is a korean canadian artist and songwriter who is currently in the group nct which has four units in total and he participates in three: nct dream, nct u, and nct 127. he also is in sm entertainment’s super boy group, super m.
on the day of sm’s auditions, his school was actually closed so he was able to attend by luck. he ended up passing the auditions in one go. he also did this as a vocalist which is impressive since he’s more known for rap but clearly hit the standards for sm in vocals.
he continued on to train to be apart of nct. during this time he also participated in korea’s mickey mouse club show along with the other nct dream members and showed his talents through multiple predebut performances in sm rookies.
after mark’s debut, his rap was what made him significantly stand out from the other members. later on, he collaborated with other artists such as exo’s baekhyun and red velvet’s joy in solo works or osts.
mark also has a reputation of being a well known songwriter in nct. he has written or helped the process of writing over 48 songs in nct’s discography. not to mention, he writes his verses in the raps in his collaborations and had an entire solo song he wrote called talk about.
now you must be thinking, can this man get even more talented? and the answer is yes. yes, he can. when asked by the choreographer about his abilities, they actually said mark was beginning to perform moves at a better skill than them and was improving well. wow, mark lee ace.
now he can sing, rap, songwrite, AND dance. is there anything else he can do? precisely. mark has had a love for writing from a young age (which translates into his great songwriting) and more specifically he wanted to become an author. here’s some of his writing material!
of course i can’t forget to mention his professionalism. as nct dream’s active leader, he is frequently praised by the dreamies for his leadership and help whenever they have to promote. even as mark was in other units/groups, he took the time out to visit the dreamies ++
and help them with their upcoming comebacks because they felt more reassured and confident with him there to guide them despite his schedule. this not only shows his dedication to his position but also the dependency the members have on him because of his great work. ++
the other nct members have also commented on mark’s behavior when he is working. although he is one of the younger members, he takes his work seriously and voices his opinions often when working on music. he also never showed his tiredness despite conflicting schedules.
and before all of the professional aspects and achievements, he’s just a good person. the members have always viewed him as someone who is caring and compassionate and even for his own fans, he finds ways to interact with us and is vulnerable with us so we can relate to him.
being in the industry is difficult, especially as a foreigner who comes from a completely different environment. the mere fact that mark handled the insane amount of work from a young age until his adulthood now shows that he is more than deserving of your respect.
the next time you think to speak out against mark lee, think again because this man has earned every single second he has been given to promote himself and display his capabilities as an artist in the industry. thank you.
the end (but never the end for mark lee)!
