Two capable, child-focused parents don't end up in the family courts. By the time they realise the mental and financial cost they tend to sort it out & co-parent. To understand parental alienation, one must understand who the majority of users of the family courts are. 1/7
Self-entitled, coercively controlling, domestic abusers demand contact or custody. They take their ex to court to win the child and harm their victim. They claim PA to do this. There are 2 clear camps - DA v PA. 2/7
The family courts are a patriarchal structure. The DA victim becomes a victim of the system too. Fathers rights trump a child's rights. If the coercively controlling abuser wins custody they go on to separate/alienate the child from their ex. 3/7

Outside of the family courts, you have the same two camps. DA victims/supporters & PA claiming abusers & proponents. Both lobby the government to make changes in law that benefit them. The PA camp use coercively controlling, abuser tactics to vilify & silence the DA camp. 4/7
The PA lobby reach out to anyone who will further their cause including separated/alienated mums. They can be charming & convincing. The unscrupulous lawyers & mental health practitioners created the 'repugnant market' surrounding the family courts. 5/7 https://www.politics.co.uk/comment/2021/02/04/the-amendment-threatening-to-derail-the-domestic-abuse-bill/
