PROTEST SAFETY THREAD

My VERY PRELlMINARY analysis of orders to #Myanmar #Police Force this week.

#Myanmarcoup #myanmarmilitarycoup #CivilDisobedienceMovement #Civil_Disobedience_Movement #BurmaCoup
The documents give the police permission to respond to protests and to arrest people, specifically “doctors and nurses” and dissidents, without any special permission needed in advanced.
They seem to instruct police to use 12 gauge rifles with rubber bullets against individual protestors and 38mm riot control grenades (including tear gas) against crowds.
[This transliterates as 12 volts, but without immediate knowledge of Burmese language weaponry terms, we assume this means 12 gauge. Tasers or other electrical weapons are in the thousands of volts not 12. Later in the document it refers to rubber bullets.]
If the police have proper training, 38 mm riot control grenades are supposed to be shot low down to ricochet along the ground. But if the police do not have proper training and the grenades are fired at a person, they could kill them.
Beyond these instructions, there is also the risk of more lethal weapons being used as the Myanmar security forces have done in the past
The document also instructs police to gain compliance of local administrators and report them if they refuse to comply; to go undercover without uniform to patrol their areas; and to cooperate with the military at all times. .
SAFETY FIRST!!! KEEP DISTANCE FROM DANGER AND KNOW YOUR WAY OUT
COME PREPARED
IF GET TEAR GASSED
