BLUE ERA: what could this mean? [A THREAD]
twenty one pilots in their history have displayed a primary color scheme that has become essential to explaining the recent narrative albums. blurryface era was primarily red, trench was yellow and this new era is projected to be blue according to tyler’s new pfp. https://twitter.com/_biurryface/status/1357905229677789191
so, if you followed along during bf era or did some research after it ended, it’s commonly known that blue means blurryface’s defeat (said by the man himself) blue is essentially the opposite of blurryface theoretically and leads to his ultimate demise
however, this defeat is temporary, because the narrative of red vs blue or blurryface vs tyler is a cycle referred to as the blurryface cycle. this cycle is the one that is explored in both the blurryface and trench albums
if you need a refresher of the cycle

blurry has jurisdiction over tyler > tyler gives in some > he realizes this is wrong > they fight a little > tyler calls for or receives support in his struggles> they fight it out in a boss battle > blurry temporarily leaves

repeat.
in blurryface, the cycle was told mainly from blurry’s perspective and had a heavy spotlight on the villain himself. although the cycle in the blurryface album ends with blue “winning” the path to this is very treacherous and difficult, as shown musically in goner.
in trench, tyler focused on more of the middle part of the cycle, in between blurry (red) having full control and tyler (blue) having full control. this middle ground was trench (yellow), in which while fighting off blurry, you could end up back at ground 0. (seen in levitaet mv)
while the perspective in blurryface was..well, mainly blurry himself, trench showed the new perspective of the middle of the cycle where it was told both in trench and dema.
so following this logic, a blue era would mean a narrative mainly in tylers perspective. and while this means that blurryface won’t be the star, he will be back and present as a villain, just like tyler was present as the protagonist of blurryface. it’s likely that
at the end of this next narrative we see a more semi-permanent defeat of blurryface due to the fact that this will be heavily about his defeat, however he won’t ever fully be gone (or so says tyler)
another possibility is seeing another new portrayal of blurry, but my fingers are crossed that we may see this guy again because of how he introduced the concept of blue through facesareablur back in the day :-) but i’m biased LOL
