I've never really been sure what's drawn me to this group so much, but saying that their music is not for everyone is an understatement. However, it's perfect for me. These guys are incredible.

I always tell people that Coma Cinema's discography is the story of someone's life. It starts with a genesis, and ends as a memory. Mat Cothran's small project will always be one of my favs.

Even if I don't think that Tyler's music is better than some of the people who are ranked "worse" on this list, I love him because he's not afraid to be himself and doesn't care what people think.

When it comes to the subject of relating to your listeners, Frank Ocean hits the nail on the head. His music is brilliant, witty, enjoyable, emotional. Every thing you could think of to describe good music.

While J. Cole might not be the greatest or the flashiest, he introduced me to this genre and for that I will forever be thankful. For a while, he was the only hip hop artist I listened to. Goat.

#4. Kid Cudi

Amazingly witty and ridiculously catchy songs are what Cudi's good at, and honestly he does not have one bad album. Even SB2H is great in my eyes. A king of hip hop.

The man a lot of you probably thought was gonna be first, Kendrick Lamar is my current obsession and he's the king of word play. No one can tell a better story than this man, and he also made my favorite album.

#2. Mac Miller

A guy I unfortunately can't say I liked before his death, I was finally encouraged to listen to him and now I'm sad as fuck he's gone. He is a genius and honestly, doesn't have one project worse than a 7. RIP.

I mean, c'mon. The greatest hip-hop artist ARGUABLY to ever live. Kanye is just the best at what he does, and he doesn't have a project below an 8. And, he's nice at ping-pong.
