It’s ok to ask more of your elected leaders. You sign their paychecks

Part of the problem in Washington is when that paycheck gets eclipsed by donations and lucrative exit options from corporate interests. I’m running to end the not-so-quiet agreement between DC - K Street - Wall Street and Silicon Valley. Politicians need to answer to the people.
It’s one of the major reasons we are the only industrialized country without universal healthcare or free public college. It’s why we’re entrenched in senseless wars of oppression and allow private prisons to profit off the backs of our precious Black brothers and sisters.
Not only are the things we’re fighting for right, they are also wildly popular.
So it begs the question — why do we allow them to exist? Who is allowing them to exist? What is the system that protects elected officials from being accountable to the needs of the people?
