1/ I walk into Wal-Mart & I see a crowd of college kids standing in the sports cars aisle. I haven’t seen product at Wal-Mart or Target since summer other than random UD hockey. We have no hobby shop in Tallahassee...

/2 so naturally I walk over and there is a vendor/staffer unloading some Hoops, Pokémon, and some random stuff out of some boxes. The others are hovering waiting for the stash to be shelved.

I think I grabbed the only one of these...
3/ I grabbed the stuff I came in for and walked back to check out. All the others are still there with the staffer unloading the box. He hands out the rest of the Hoops hanger boxes.

I thank him for giving me the Contenders and I strike up a brief convo...
4/ he laments that he only has enough product to give the “150” or so collectors a box or two. There’s not enough to go around. Also knows the collectors names and faces...
5/. asked one of the collectors if he’s rippin’ or reselling. He said ripping, his group had been waiting all day for this drop of product.

The crew literally walked out with everything but the one box I took. Empty shelves again!

This type of collecting is so foreign to me.
