A theory about how BC can confidently say school aged transmission is low, while teachers and parents disagree..
2. Try this for yourselves like my husband did last night.
Go online to the children's daily health checklist. Check off any age you'd like. Click on any number of symptoms, or even all of them! You will be told to stay home and isolate, no test recommended.
Now...go to the Covid Assessment tool for adults. Check off whatever age youd like. Click on all of the symptoms you checked off on the child's checklist. You can also check off the severity of symptoms, for arguments sake - make it mild. Get ready...
You will be told to get a covid test every time, no matter what you do....

Children? Told not to get tested, no matter what you do....

In conclusion, families are being discouraged from getting sick kids tested. This is actually happening.
If you refuse tobtest children, or discouraged child testing, you obviously won't catch the cases, and then can claim the numbers are low. This is not how true data collection works. This is how keeping the economy running works.
We are not hysterical. We are not armchair epidemiologist, we are critical thinkers who are rational and able to go through information carefully and thoughtfully. Unfortunate for the #bcndp.
Go ahead. Try the tools. See for yourselves.
