Why index investing is the strategy I chose

I should start by saving I believe in the American economy and financial system as a whole
Because of that, I'm basically "betting" on American stocks to continue to rise as a whole
Because of that, I'm basically "betting" on American stocks to continue to rise as a whole
This is why the majority of my holdings are in U.S. stocks via $VOO $VIG $VTI and a few others
Instead of trying to pick individual U.S. stocks I believe in and spending days analyzing each company, I'm putting my eggs into an already-diversified basket

That being said, I do believe in diversification. Even though each fund consists of 100s of stocks, I want to branch out of just U.S. based stocks
Which is why I also have some international stocks from $VXUS as well as some in bond funds

This strategy has still required research of which funds I want to invest in, but not nearly as much as trying to "pick the next hot stock"
