1) As is my habit, I decided to check out early newspaper mentions for the late Christopher Plummer. First up, a note from the May 5, 1933 edition of the Montreal Gazette's "Social and Personal Page" followed by an early acting appearance (Gazette, Nov 13/46) #christopherplummer
2) The first photo that came up was this one, which appeared in the July 21, 1948 Montreal Gazette
3) On the same page, an ad featuring another up-and-coming Canadian talent who would soon be known internationally: Oscar Peterson
4) A profile of Plummer, from the August 1, 1950 Montreal Gazette.
5) Finally, some of the earliest mentions of Plummer from Toronto papers: discussion of a 1950 production of Cymbeline (G&M July 15, 1950) and an ad for a production of Lister Sinclair's Socrates (G&M February 9, 1952)
