A positive start but we’ve struggled to play out their press — losing the ball or resulting in long balls.
Hannibal needs to be careful in that aspect when eager to win the ball back, he’s already fouled twice.

And as I say that — Levitt loses the ball in a dangerous area and the visitors score.
That was nice from Amad. Runs and receives the ball in traffic but retains it well — a certain maturity to his game. Many players i.e Rashford get tunnel vision in these instances.
That was an excellent through ball from Amad.
He does very well in picking out players and his technical skillset is refined for a player his age.

He’s lost the ball in some instances but it’s important to remember that he doesn’t train with the U23’s — so communication and understanding might be weak. He’s tracked back well though.
That was a really good finish from Hannibal — dummies his defender to the right then goes left. Good!
We’ve been sloppy in possession. Losing the ball — leading us to concede fouls at an attempt to stop their counter attacks. We need to calm down.
Hannibal always a bit talkative with the referees. A sign of his strong character but — it can annoy the referee.
An area he needs to improve on before being introduced to the first team.

Amad does so well at escaping his defender and leaving him behind — and it’s using simple touches along with his pace that allows him to set himself up so well. Very clean.
That was poor — we concede from a corner. We fail to win the ball, height was a disadvantage.

Amad’s constantly instructing his players on where to move the ball in the opposition half.
His vocality is nice and will allow him and his teammates to better understand each-other and synchronize well.

We’re able to exploit Blackburn using third man runs and quick touches. We’ve done this a couple of times now: and it’s how we scored our first.
Composure on the ball should help here.

Amad’s run was fantastic here — asks for the ball, cuts inside and similar to what I mentioned previously, calmly picks his player, we score!
His maturity on the ball and quick thinking is very nice.

Amad’s creative output in this game follows a similar pattern — makes runs, retains the ball and sets his runner up with a through ball.
His proactivity and involvement is a huge factor to our good offensive performance.

Oh that was nice — definitely worked on in training. Amad plays a short corner then bends his run into the penalty box. He doesn’t receive well though, execution was poor.
45’: We’ve already built out the back much better — and thats a result of movement of the players to offer themselves as an option on the ball and finding them with quick incisive passes.
50’: Neville (our FB) supplying our forwards with long balls and switches has allowed us to transition to our offensive phase more efficiently. Nice.
52’: That was a poor penalty to concede. It’s important to remember that we have no starting CB — with Galbraith and Devine filling in hence our defensive weaknesses.
*But* we’ve struggled with conceding poor goals since the start of the season.

54’: We concede again — our organization as a team is poor: we aren’t compact enough with our forwards i.e Hannibal too far to add defensive presence.

60’: Hannibal does very well to shield the ball with his body even though he isn’t physically strong yet. There’s a certain intent to the way he plays his game — it’s nice to see from a player his age.
63’: That was an excellent through ball from Shoretire that leaves Amad 1v1. Although his shot is saved by the keeper but getting in those positions are encouraging signs.
64’: That was a good run from Hannibal on the right — and an even better diagonal cross from Amad to find him. Again! Very good at finding his forwards.
Great close control from Hannibal that bypasses his fullback.

Amad’s offensive repertoire is so expansive — very good at carrying the ball in tight spaces, through and long balls to find his runners and simple incisive passes in the penalty box.
72’: Ah! Amad must’ve read my tweet. A fantastic cross to find Shoretire’s run and we score from a header. Our two best performers tonight. Two assists for Amad.

73’: We equalize! Again: like I said, Neville’s long balls and crosses has been excellent and finds Hugill in the backpost.

76’: Amad does so well at using his body posture to trick his opponent. Lowers his shoulders as if to shoot but passes it to the side.
77’: WOW! Amad recieves the ball at the edge of the penalty box and takes his time to find Shoretire.
His patience and composure will do him so well in the future. It’s the simple things.

80’: Amad takes up so many advantageous positions to receive the ball. He’s intelligent in his game.
He anticipates where the ball drops, even though he loses it at an attempt to dribble past two.

84’: GOAL! What an excellent controlled volley supplied by a cutback from Fernandez.
His finishing is so so good. Well deserved.

It’s quite ironic how good and active our U23’s are down the right.
Amad’s goal:
It won’t be long till we see Amad in the squad for the first team.
His technical skillset — his reading of the game, he’s a very exciting player to watch.

94’: Again: he does so well at penetrating the penalty box using take-ons — leaving the opposition defenders puzzled to leave him or foul him. He’s so smooth with his movements.
95’: Hannibal is a victim of many, many fouls due to the nature of his game but what I like is how quickly he gets up — every time, every game.
Well, that was fun. The mentality of our U23’s to come from behind 3 times is stunning and will do them well to build their character in the future. A HATTRICK of assists and a goal for Amad!
