Dr. Bonnie Henry says there has been a dramatic decrease in illness among most vulnerable since vaccination program has started. #bcpoli

Dr. Henry says having a birthday party or gathering is all it could take for the virus to take off. Says it could happen in any community. "We want a smooth path to the finish." #bcpoli
Dr. Henry says Super Bowl, Lunar New Year, Family Day, they are all times to knock the virus down. "We all want to get to the days when these orders are lifted." #bcpoli #covid19BC
NEW - Dr. Henry says they are working with ViaSport to get youth sports back up and running by the end of February. This is for planning. "By the end of the month we can look to have our Save Six." #bcpoli #covid19BC
On California variant, Dr. Henry says the province is watching very closely. Says more transmission that happens, the higher the risk of variants. #bcpoli #covid19BC
On precautions needed to be taken because of truck traffic, Dr. Henry says many conversations have taken place because of this. It is high concern and joint BC/Fed conversations. #bcpoli
On WHL hub city, Dr. Henry says they received a proposal in January that was rejected. Says they are buying time overall until the end of the month. Doesn't look like anything will change until the end of February. "We want to work to salvage a spring season" #bcpoli
On stepping up variant screening and surveillance, Dr. Henry speaks about the marker testing. Says should be in place over the coming days. #bcpoli #covid19BC
On getting immunization program back on track and when people should hear about shots, Henry says March 1 will be target for when those 80 yo and above will be contacted. Will not be through doctor. More info coming the week after next. #bcpoli #covid19BC

On Whistler safety plan, Dix says there have been significant inspections taking place. Says the transmission is around social gatherings and not skiing. #bcpoli
