common ableism that most ppl dont think is ableist: a thread by a disabled person
1. thinking that bc someone doesnt use a wheelchair/cain/mobility aid 24/7 that they dont need it at all
2. disabled people on disability losing their disability benefits when they get married
3. jobs not hiring disabled people bc they are disabled but using another excuse to hide it
4. thinking all physical disabilities are obvious
5. shaming people for being picky eaters/not liking certain foods
6. shaming ppl for not being vegan/vegetarian
7. being anti-self dx
8. blaming disabled people for being poor when they are poor
9. fakeclaiming
10. shaming ppl who cant keep up with hygiene
11. distracting service animals
12. no captions
13. putting emojis in between every word in tweets without providing an easier to read version
14. making fun of trigger warnings or warnings in general (esp flash warnings)
15. inaccessible carrd (bright colors, unreadable fonts, etc)
16. fonts in dn / bio
17. school systems in general

oh yeah acting like being disabled is a terrible thing. this is specifically about the people who say "ADHD/ADD/Autism isnt a disability >:(" bc they think disability means smth bad. it doesnt. im physically and mentally disabled and when u say shit like that it hurts to hear
this kinda goes hand in hand with telling disabled people we cant live happy lives and that u feel bad for us ... ew
making fun of stutters/tics
assuming tics/stutters are drug related
muting this bc a lot of notifs make me anxious and panicky but yea learn how to not be ableist :)
