With the push for hyper-personalization -- personalized workouts, supplements, personalized advice, even personalized mattresses -- remember this:

Most people are mostly the same

Before spending years and $$$ getting personalization, have you nailed the fundamentals?
The way we shop for personalization is culturally constructed. Your parents rarely customized their food orders! Now we expect to “have it our way"

The idea that something is created just for you is irresistible -- and created by marketers
Hence you see people spending years shopping for the “perfect” solution

They rarely ask themselves "How do I become the perfect student?"

We cycle from sleep mask to tech-enabled mattress, rarely applying the fundamentals

Americans love bandaids -- especially personalized ones
Once you master the basics, you EARN the right to customize and personalize

But beware of premature personalization

You can get results with a basic workout, a basic diet, basic financial advice, and basic sleep advice

Stop seeking personalization. Start applying it.
