We can build a province and an economy that works for everyone. We can have strong public health and education. We can have a thriving economy without leaving people behind.

But we do have to re-examine our arguments, and let go of some old failed ideas.

In the 2019 election I met a lot of people who were scared. Because with two jobs, and kids it can be really hard to afford even the basics.

People don’t have a lot of time, so when a conservative comes to your door with a magic economy wand, it’s easy to believe.

Trickle down economics does not work. It never has worked. That past time that everyone is dreaming of? Some TV version of the US 50s/60s - corporate taxes were higher back then.

This constant race to the bottom, making the rich richer, won’t work.

We need to examine the conservative promise - because it is one of two things:

1) tax cuts for the rich will help everyone

2) you will become one of the rich

The first is false, the second is likely false.

Vote con because “you will become rich.” First, statistically very unlikely. Unless you were born that way.

Second - should you build a world based on the faint hope you will “get out” while your friends continue to suffer? Is that what you want?

So maybe I can’t (or won’t) promise you magical wealth like a conservative would.

But, together we can build a province and an economy based on making things easier for the middle class. A strong middle class actually builds the economy. 6/ #ableg
But we have to let go of some things. Let go of giving ever more to the rich, let go of believing that if you vote like those rich, you will become so.

Those are lies you were told to keep those in power, more powerful. They were never meant to help you. Let them go.

And let go of that zero sum game - the idea that in order to get ahead you have to step on everyone else.

It’s not true - more money in the hands of those with less builds the economy. We can thrive together.
