A number of people don't get words do have association (feelings, sensitivity, connotations) and how the brain rigs itself to interpret them. Not a lot of people understand it (myself included) or when to use them. It is either born out of sheer ignorance or arrogance. https://twitter.com/NWali_X/status/1357692623612477440
There are people who are averse against massaging people's egos (Sensitivity) and go ahead to strike a chord but what I find dishonest is when the action is done and you get "dragged" they switch the card and play "victim offense" card for saying things they deem right.
If you're a participant in a public space, one of the useful tools is to understand the sensitivity of people and try to navigate your way through the "offense politics" that is bound to be in a public space.
Everyone is still looking for the official rationalization of today's CBN directive. As a country plagued with terrorism and the govt using this basic human want (security) as an excuse to stop certain policies and also used unjustifiably against private citizens which is done
Here and the world over. This is one of the association the word "terrorism" "terrorists" connotes. Now I [do] don't expect you to know this however you have already struck a nerve by stating that first even when you ended by not agreeing with the CBN directive.
Is the "dragging" rabid and irrational? In some ways it is, but were there ways to convene your message that wouldn't result to this? Certainly yes.

Your "victim offense" card allows you to be "offended" and say words like intolerance, policing etc.
We can agree that there are bad takes regardless of the intention or innocence or sainthood behind it.
