Can someone tell me exactly what the government should have done differently in procuring vaccines? Not a different outcome but different realistic steps that would have led to a different result?
Domestic production - no one wanted to do it. Not realistic. 
Procure earlier - would not have made a difference in a world where there are production shortages. No indication that we are being shorted because of when we bought (as opposed to not being in the US/EU).
And saying “get vaccines” - anyone can say that. But how??
The best anyone can say is “that’s the governments responsibility!” And I accept that. But I don’t think there’s anything it could have done.
