Good morning to all the hockey folks with hiring power! Consider this: hire Black women.
BuT BlACk PeOpLe DoN't ApPLy!!

Adjust your hiring practices and actively seek out applicants in Black student unions, HBCUs, sports management departments, grassroots community orgs. Limiting your hockey hires to folks ALREADY involved in hockey is why we're here, Chad.
This is free advice that I have literally given to every hockey org I've ever spoken to. You're welcome!!
Hockey media is not exempt from this. All these new podcasts, blogs, news sites and nary a Black person in sight. A good journalist is going to pick up any topic you give them, hockey included. They don't need to be a fan. I repeat THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE A FAN.
I know this is counterintuitive to most hockey people, but limiting your hires to folks already involved or excited about hockey is perpetuating these archaic hiring practices. Think outside your little bubble of whiteness, my friend. There's a whole diverse world out there.
