both parents had their vaccine today. one is an anti-vaccer and just spoke to her and she was convinced she had been a placebo or control group thing or whatever. ffs. but i suppose they both got it at least
they both live in a different part of the uk, and type 1 diabetes runs down one side of family (grandparent died in the 1950s due to what sounds like dka, i've an aunt who got diagnosed late around the same time i did)
i used to pass out at primary school a lot, and go home to be screamed at because they might think i had diabetes, then i just had stomach pain and ambulance journeys for years
when i moved to the secondary school my friend there (who was also haemophiliac) had t1d and alas died at 12 or 13. i think the school put us together as a hint. he used to call me skeletor behind my back cos i looked so ill
then moved to a diff part of the country for a bit, then another, and by that point i'd given up a bit, but by that point your medical history is written, people understandably just look back at notes. if you fall over you are drunk or drugged.
which does by this point play a massive part, cos what are you going to do if you have this mystery illness that no-one seems to notice.,,
