Nobody wants to cross them -- and who would? It's clearly important to listen to the neediest in our community and hear what they want from a rezone. However... .

A closer look reveals that 4 of the 10 groups here are all part of the non-profit housing org, Fifth Avenue Committee...the organization that will gain millions $$ in housing assetts if the rezone goes through...
And who runs non-profit developing firm Fifth Ave Committee? Michelle de La Uz. Michelle de La Uz has a second job, however--she also worked in the Department of City Planning, where the Gowanus rezone plan was hatched....(more)
So Michelle de La Uz, of the DCP, puts together an "coalition" of orgs that is actually 40% her own organization, an org who stands to gain huge development contracts as part of the rezone. But who else is involved with GNCJ?... (more)
