Actually, here, Gurdjieff is more to the point. Periodically, civilizations undergo self-destruction because the people are unable to handle with responsibility all that they've created. With the underlying fuel to expand and Elevate gone, they inevitably crash https://twitter.com/georgelee1985/status/1357712649375543302
As far as Jung goes, the interpretation would be tantamount to what you saw in Germany. Sense of hopelessness and helplessness compounded by the group's lack of adaptation to the psyche...pseudo cure, semi cure, offered by a Madman as a substitute. Madman with unconscious genius
What Jung said was that Hitler offered the Germans the pseudo and semi cure that worked with him. I have to tell you, though, I have never felt that Carl Jung understood America and what's really going on here
His analysis of understanding had a certain superficiality. He got what was wrong with our modern civilization but he didn't understand the progression from Judaism and Christianity into the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, Etc
I've also read a most interesting book called Jung's Seminar on Nietzsche's Zarathustra. I agree with almost everything but his denigration of the Ubermensch as a kind of super Protestant is simply wrong.
This is what the Ubermensch is. First Adam to Second Adam. Abram to Abraham. Second breath. Psychological rebirth. Friedrich Nietzsche intuited it but couldn't flush it out because he had no tools for that
The virus is actually the projection of the fear by people in power of the need to surrender their point of view and undergo a fundamental transformation. They resist the call to finding the center of the psyche outside the ego. They worship false gods. And, themselves.
That's why submission to the arbitrary and unscientific program regarding the virus is essential. It's the equivalent of Christians being forced to put ashes in the urn of the emperor and demonstrate loyalty to the regime.
