1) Here's is a breakdown of the 889 amendments filed last night in the Senate vote-a-rama and the final disposition.
2) Keep in mind that ALL amendments, at the end of the vote-a-rama were wiped out by what’s called a “substitute” amendment, offered by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
3) By its nature, Schumer’s amendment replaced EVERYTHING which had been adopted/rejected overnight and replaced it with new budget resolution text.
4) On the second to last vote of the vote-a-rama, the Senate adopted that substitute amendment, 51-50 with VP Harris casting her first tiebreaking vote. A few moments later, the Senate adopted the entirely new budget, 51-50, with Harris casting her second tie-breaking vote.
5) Again, budgets aren’t binding. A lot of the amendments here were weaponized against one side or the other. But the disposition of each amendment gives you a sense of where the parties stand on various issues. Here is the GOP tracker of the amdts:
