The thing is that this is just as hard or harder than nationalization. You still need to take something away from corporations, but now you need to build a ton of independently run not-for-profits to build and run hundreds of facilities across the country.
But more to the point, the NDP aren't going to form the next government so why even bother with starting from some sort of compromise position instead of pushing for the full-deal? (even if they could form government they should go for the full-deal, of course)
