Trudeau’s personal rating is back in net negative territory. Dithering and obfuscating in a crisis is never a good look. Vaccine disappointment seems to have put Trudeau in a political rut, and neither forward nor reverse will get him out.
But O’Toole is not benefiting. He’s an even worse alternative, even more negative than Trudeau. The Sloan Dances with Nazis story surely didn’t help; nor does Jason Kenney.
Meanwhile, Singh’s strength continues, though this poll only pegs his NDP at 18, lower than other recent polls. Still, my observation has been that party numbers tend to trend toward leader numbers.
This is a dramatic political story because the govt response to this pandemic really matters to people. There’s one story, we’re all in it — some a lot more than others — and we’re looking for a leader who will get us out of it. Hero needed.
