The Nehru-Gandhi family's hunger for power in a tweet thread -

1. The first time the Nehru-Gandhis were out of power was in 1977. They used the differences between Morarji / Charan Singh / Jagajeevan Ram to topple the government.

2. Propped up a Charan Singh Government which
never faced the lok sabha after realising they were duped by the Nehru / Gandhis.

3. The Nehru-Gandhis came to power in 1980 but were hit by the fruits of their acts in 1970's. Sanjay Gandhi died in an accident and Indira Gandhi was killed by the genie she created
4. The killing of a sitting PM the first major terror act in India and the subsequent riots on one hand and a fresh face like Rajiv Gandhi helped Congress gain a huge majority of around 425 seats. BJP had only 2 seats.

5. Rajiv Gandhi though had shown his true colours in Andhra
but it was still early days and people gave him a brute majority. which he promptly abused.

6. The second fall of Nehru Gandhi family happened in 1989. But the opposition had not learnt its lesson. BJP and the left in a matured manner gave outside support but the back door
entry of V P Singh put off chandrasekhar and this was a godsend for rajiv

7. Again Rajiv Gandhi used this fissure to topple V P Singh. Chandrasekhar too fell in a short time thanks to the farce of haryana police spying on Rajiv Gandhi

8. the unfortunate death of Rajiv Gandhi at
the hands of LTTE changed the destiny of this country for some time. If the acts of IG in 70s haunted India in 80s, the acts of 80s came home to roost in the foul murder of Rajiv Gandhi.

9. Congress got a chance to form the government at center but had no majority. PVN Rao did
his best but this period unleashed another genie - previously corruption was a side business but now became the main occupation of many regional parties / satraps.

10. PVNR loss in 1996 was disastrous to the country. The third kichdi government was formed with Deve gowda as a
compromise candidate. Deve Gowda slept his way to ignominy and was replaced by another compromise candidate - I K Gujral.

11. Before this UF govt was formed ABV was called to form a government but could not muster a majority after 13 days in office.

12. The Jain commission
which probed the Rajiv Gandhi death had named DMK as a co-conspirator. Sonia insisted DMK be removed from the UF government but Gujral refused. The Govt fell and another election ensued.
13. In this election BJP became the largest party and was able to stich a coalition. But the *Mamta / Samtha / Lalitha* trio ensued he could not run a proper government. After the famous tea party the 13 month old government fell.
14. Giridhar gomango who had already become CM of orissa and ethically should not have voted did so and the government fell by this one vote.

15. In the third election within a short time, the BJP pre-poll coalition was able to win comfortably and form a government. But the
internal pressure with maverick partners like Mamta / DMK / TDP and the 2002 riots in Gujarat ensured ABV had no peace to govern properly.

16. The rats like TDP / DMK used the 2002 riots in 2004 to jump ship. Their conscience was clear till BJP ws in power but once elections
were announced they woke up to 2002 riots and raj dharma. ABV lost an election which he had confidently called 6 months earlier than due.

17. Sonia as PM aspirant of the newly stitched alliance met the president to claim the PM post. No one knows what transpired but she suddenly
took a stand that she would not be PM. Again a compromise candidate was chosen - Manmohan Singh.

18. Sonia extracted her price for her abstinence. Earlier PVNR and Gowda / Gujral govts had allocated large grants to trusts that she controlled. But now she formed a super cabinet
called NAC, an extra constitutional authority, and became its chair person with cabinet rank. Some abstinence.

19. BJP had been the single largest party in 2004 but in 2009 it had lost that distinction and in a shocking show had lesser seats than a dispirited congress and
despite 26/11.

20. The formation of cabinet in 2009 was a farce with open bargaining between various aspirants. the situation was similar to kingships being openly purchased in olden days starting from Rome to as recent as mughal empire post aurangazeb.
21. This was further evident when Radia tapes were released. The fact that even news journos could barter ministerial posts shook the nation. The CWG scam / the 2G scam / the Coal allocation scam / National Herald scam further exposed the ruling coterie.

22. It was out of this
confusion that BJP boldly selected NaMo as its PM candidate dropping the older delhi based leadership.

23. Till date ABV and NaMo are the only PM we have had who have never been in congress and along with Morarji are only 3 PMs who would never tolerate the influence of the
Nehru / Gandhis.

24. Unfortunately ABV did not have the majority that NaMo has and even BJP supporters today bad mouth him for being partial at time to the Gandhis. Nothing can be further from the truth

25. If this country has to survive as a single unit, prosper, the
congress culture, an euphemism for the Nehru - Gandhi clan's unsatiable hunger for power must be removed totally.
