Thread: 1. Women are leaving jobs in droves because employers refuse to put them on furlough to allow them to home school. https://bbc.in/2YOzP4m  This exodus of qualified women is setting back the clock. But women are not the only parent, why are men not also quitting?
2. Because men are routinely paid more than their female counterparts, even when women have more experience and qualification. This leads to the absurd outcome that the workforce will become yet more populated by overpaid and less qualified men because of furlough.
3. Meanwhile pressure is being put on employers not to use furlough - a govt hand-out. But why? Isn't it more scary that the workforce is losing skilled people and diversity. Where is the shame in allowing the govt to help fund home-schooling and keep the workplace diverse?
4. Besides, e'ers' refusal to use furlough for e'ees who need time for home-schooling and childcare during lockdown is probably indirect discrimination and exposes e'ers to legal challenge, another future cost along with the structural cost of losing diversity and key staff.
