hi everyone, i wanted to talk about this thing i saw in one of dream’s past manhunt videos.

in the video “minecraft speedrunnner vs 3 hunters rematch” dream used a specific soundtrack called “Navajo Race.” and im gonna explain here whats wrong with that. [INFORMATIVE]

background on me: im half native (navajo) and half white. my mother is full navajo and grew up on the reservation with navajo being her first language. i also grew up on the rez and i am very involved in my culture. this is so you all know that im qualified to talk about this.

forgive me if i get anything wrong, ive asked my mom a lot of questions but i may get some things wrong!

As you guys may now, or may not know, navajo is a tribe that is mainly in arizona. In our culture we have things called ceremonies where a group of medicine men usually pray and sing for someone (usually). Why is the relevant?

Because in the song ‘navajo race’ you can hear a ceremony song being sung. (0:24)

WHATS WRONG WITH THAT? our ceremony songs are sacred to our culture. to put them into a song thats supposed to be some type of indiana jones type music is disrespectful.

OK BUT WHAT DID DREAM DO WRONG? he shouldnt have put that music in the manhunt, but i dont think he did this knowing that it was cultural appropriation. i cant blame white people for being uneducated so i made this to educate both dream and other people who may see this!

WHAT DO U WANT DREAM TO DO? i dont want dream nor do i expect him to take down the video, but i would like it if he would address this and apologize and acknowledge that he has been educated! my goal with this was to educate him and others!

WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO CANCEL DREAM? you absolute fucking moron, when did i say i wanted to cancel him? like i said, i made this for education purposes and education purposes ONLY.

WHY DID U LOOK FOR SOMETHING TO CALL DREAM OUT ON? i didnt! i was simply watching an old manhunt while i was eating dinner and i recognized the background music as something that sounded like our ceremony songs. I found the song to confirm it wasn’t what i thought it was, but-

alas it was. i then decided to make this thread to educate dream and anyone else who may read this!

AGAIN, i am not “canceling dream” i am holding him accountable. hold content creators accountable! this thread is to EDUCATE.

if your take away from this is to cancel dream then you didn’t get the point. dont weaponize this to try and cancel dream.
