As a leader you have the opportunity to look through the eyes, and listen through the ears of your people.

To do this you have to be able to take the perspective of the other person.
When leaders don’t do this, they undermine their own ability to lead.

Leading in this way takes more time but in the end you lead from the middle, from the heart of the people.
How does it look when you don’t do this?

While there are other examples, tRump stands as one of the greatest recent examples of poor, only-my-ideas leadership.

The examples are blatant.
When you take another person’s perspective you don’t just let it change your mind, you consider their thoughts and experiences and weigh them against other factors.

It takes time and can be emotionally draining, especially when you consider that everyone is valuable.
