let’s talk about spiritual abuse in the community (thread)
spiritual abuse is rampant in the community. it can be stealing content, harming other astrologers/spiritualists, uplifting and promoting bigotry and violence against others, hexing group chats, taking advantage and so much more.
many people are afraid to speak up against spiritual abuse because the other person has power and typically in our community, that’s people with platforms or elders. with spiritual abuse, it is also hard for consumers to understand what and who is real and doing the work.
it’s so important for people with platforms to hold other people with platforms (or not) accountable. it’s also important that our followers, supporters and other spiritual people feel like they can come to us openly. a lot is kept under the rug tho. conversations are not had
quite frankly, i don’t value cancel culture at all. it should never get to that point of exiling people. i do value accountability culture though. accountability culture seeks to have conversations, teach, grow and learn. it emphasizes advocacy and change.
of course, people have to be willing to change, but if someone is saying they are.. then it takes conversations with communities and proper work. engagement, demonstration of understand systems of abuse, oppression, etc.
i’m tired of people being exposed every retrograde & i think it’s time that we rethink and build solutions to prevent all of this. we should be able to be transparent on an individual level. you should be able to come to me or anyone else directly if there’s something problematic
we should have standards. we can’t uplift any forms of abuse, violence, or bigotry. it’s important that we educate each other bc we don’t have space for harmful ignorance. we need to grow as people and be better always. whether it’s teaching eachother why a word/action is harmful
and then never saying/doing that thing again.. or repercussions for something more extreme... i think transparency, conversations and learning needs to happen in our communities.
i am in support of gathering with other spiritual leaders, gathering with various groups in the community & having spaces for these groups. i’m down for a spiritual coalition. i’m down for brainstorming how we can gather, set standards & approach one another.
this is a great time for us to think about how we move as a community. it’s retrograde so if anything launches, it’ll happen after this period. this is a reflection space so pls reply with any suggestions you have. it’s important we converse so we can learn & grow together.
