Since BC Schools are mandating masks for all middle & secondary school students... time again to lay out some statistical facts....

BC has tested 34% of the population, of THEM:
4% have tested positive
0.22% have been hospitalized
0.07% have died

( @sd83schools)
#COVID19BC
Of the overall population, therefore....
1.3% have tested positive (from a test with a significant lean toward false positive)
0.07% have been hospitalized
0.02% have died

2/n
Those 19 an under make up:
13% of cases
2% of hospitalizations
0% of deaths

Those over 60 make up:
18% of cases
62% of hospitalizations
96% of deaths

And, as has been the case since this began, the majority of deaths (currently 72%) are from Long Term Care.

Additionally, the majority of cases, hospitalizations and deaths, are STILL found, as they have since the start, in Metro Vancouver (Vancouver Coastal, and Fraser, Health regions).

But, yeah, let's make the, literally, LEAST at risk wear masks all day long, for nothing.
