Sec. Buttigieg says Union Station is a special place. Talks about when he visited as a school trip and food court was coolest place. Then talks about taking Red Line when he was interning in college.
Sec now taking about mask requirement and how it will save lives. Says best way to defeat COVID variants is slowing the spread. Says USDOT supporting transit with additional funding. “They are being asked to work miracles” with budgets.
Buttigieg we must not put employees in place of asking and reminding, but sometimes they may have to.
