12 year old norman, pre-minerva cosplay. huh.
how come?
this feels like a very deliberate choice. a gamechanging one, potentially. but not a negative one.
if norman's arc follows the manga, it will feel different with his lambda design vs his minerva one

removing his adult-like design could shift the narrative viewers will take in. i foresee less hostility towards anime!norman
while the manga highlighted the harsh reality that norman was forced to grow, the anime may highlight the harsh reality that norman is still a young child

manga norman was always a child, that never changed. but he hid behind a shield of maturity with his appearance alone. it gave off the impression that he was much more capable than he truly was
anime norman.. is, well, cute? anime norman will be reliant only on his personality.

in the manga, our first impression is a well put together emperor. we have to be reminded he's only a child
in the anime, it's the forefront.
an emperor? boss? not impression #1.
impression #1 is "oh, another one of the children trying so hard to survive in this world"

even if he kills, even if he is respected by his followers, we're still seeing a 12 year old.
it's an interesting choice. norman may not even be as harsh, but if he is, he's going to have a harder time pretending he's totally so grown and in charge
i mean. look at that smile.

norman is an incredibly vulnerable, hurt character. his vulnerability in the late manga is shown through his cracked emotions, not his appearance.
the anime shows it through his appearance already. will he be weaker here? will he compensate by acting harsher? hard to tell now

tldr; anime norman is not manga norman, even if he is a leader. we're going to instantly see a kid with blood on his hands and a heavy burden on his shoulders. one who is weak, and likely sick
still, it doesn't feel like one norman is superior. they're simply different!
