It's time for social platforms to do more to help smaller, up and coming creators. They are the true backbone of creator communities. They put in so much work with little to no recognition because money, resources, and recognition go to creators who have the numbers.
This is why Vine died. You had a bunch of greedy influencers who wanted money to stay on the platform, meanwhile there were creators on the come-up who were hardly getting attention. When you don’t pay attention to your COMMUNITY people lose trust and leave.
Communication, transparency, resources, creator programs, LISTENING and UNDERSTANDING.. it’s all necessary to sustain a platform where creators can thrive and call home. Creators are tired of seeing the big guy win all the attention.
I think about how whitewashed the creator community is. We need to support creators of color, women, people with disabilities more and provide resources to those who may not have the money to create the best content but are still passionate about creating.
