Our “digital lives” used to be a reflection of our “physical lives.”

No longer true. For many of us our digital world is just as real and just as important as the “real world.”

This presents the Big Problem.

THREAD
The Big Problem is that the rules and protections that govern physical life DO NOT EXIST online.

People are EVEN MORE vulnerable to being *psychologically* attacked online than the real world.

People get HURT from online attacks. People DIE.
If you’re at 7-11 and get surrounded by a group of thugs stalking and harassing you, you call the cops. Or pull out a can of mace.

What do you on Twitter, or Facebook or any other online platform that allows itself to be WEAPONIZED?

We need a system. We need a time out.
QAnon is the ultimate example of this. In QAnon, the roles are reversed — the physical world is an extension of the digital world.

On 1/6 we all saw this play out. For the Qultists, the “real” world was QAnon, and the physical world was *supposed to reflect it.*
The solution to the Big Problem is not something one person or one group can figure out.

We CANNOT reverse the trend toward digital life. That is simply going to happen.

But if we don’t get our shit together, that brave new digital world is going to be a very scary place.
We need mandatory education for kids, training for workers, and a public health campaign to prevent indoctrination.

And WE NEED NEW LAWS. Just to start, gangstalking and online harassment IS A CRIME. It’s just not on the books yet.

Let’s change that.
