Good if red light only. LFT may be effective as general 'red light' monitoring because positives seem to be trusted. However many experts agree LFT negatives can't be trusted to ensure people are safe *after high risk activity & aren't a safe 'green light' enabling test... https://twitter.com/Lancs_FireDCFO/status/1357088712270770176
...For example, we have already had firefighter test negative with LFT test same day they tested positive on a PCR. So a positive LFT is considered to mean you probably have Covid, a Negative LFT doesn't mean you don't ...
...So firefighters returning from high risk activity such as dealing with patients or moving Covid deceased can't ensure they haven't contracted the virus by LFT. In this circumstance PCR test provides a significantly higher level of control (hence use in travel test release etc)
So if we PCR test firefighters following activity in settings of a high exposure risk, we can do both great work & easily ensure we don't spread #COVID19 into fire stations, our homes or further. Simple. Not a big ask to keep the protectors protected
