1/ To the people telling me I'm rooting against the vaccine: OF COURSE I WANT THE VACCINE TO WORK. I WANT IT TO HAVE NO SIDE EFFECTS AND WORK PERFECTLY.

I also want a pony.

What I want doesn't matter. What you want doesn't matter. Vaccine gonna vaccine. How well it vaccines...

2/ Depends at the cellular level on complex factors few people are qualified to judge... but should ultimately be visible at the person and national level.

AT THIS POINT, THE COST-BENEFIT OF THE VACCINE IS UNCLEAR. The companies rushed the preclinical/early clinical work...

3/ And enrolled the wrong people (people who are unlikely to become seriously ill or die from #SarsCov2) in their trials. They did so with the approval of regulators, btw

Further, since the side effect data became available, health authorities and the media have downplayed it...

4/ So we are very much flying blind here. That's why the Israeli data matter so much, and that's why they are so troubling - and why the efforts to mislead people about them (by looking at pieces rather than the entire picture) are even more troubling...

5/ If the mRNA vaccines (or other vaccines) work, great. But rooting for them CANNOT BLIND US TO WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING. And if public health authorities are actively discouraging the media from reporting side effects (as they seem to be), the dangers rise exponentially.
