Attack on Titan has many parallels with Norse mythology. So, I have this little idea comparing Attack Titan/Eren with the giant wolf Fenrir. There's gonna be manga spoilers ahead.
The most obvious reference is Ymir herself. Ymir is a Jotun (Titan) and the first being in Norse mythology, who was slain by Odin and his brothers, and from Ymir's corpse, the world was formed.
Similarly, in AOT, Ymir Fritz was the first Titan whose spirit was later split into the 9 Titans that exist today.
The Ash tree Yggdrasil connects the nine worlds. The tree that Ymir enters into could be a reference to Yggdrasil.
The hole Ymir fallen into could be Ginnungagap, the void where she formed into a Titan. In Norse mythology, Ginnungagap is the void from which Ymir was born.
Ymir was simply a slave for King Fritz who could not exercise any will of her own. The only time she felt free was when she chose to release the pigs and set them free.
Her submission to the Royal Family was inherited in the Founding Titan and she continued to serve them for 2000 years and her desire for freedom was inherited by the Attack Titan as the shifters were always said to be disobedient.
I think this parallels the story of Aesir and Fenrir. The children of Loki were prophesized to bring forth Ragnarok, so the Aesir chained the wolf so that it could not move anymore.
It's ironic that Fenrir was raised and fed by the Aesir or especially Tyr to possibly prevent Ragnarok, which in turn, made him stronger. I can stretch this and say that the decisions made by Karl Fritz, who was a pacifist, "nurtured" Eren into what he is now.
Moreover, I think the 3 daughters of Ymir resemble the 3 Norns from Norse mythology. The Norns are said to be Jotuns who came from underneath Yggdrasil.
Each Norn controlled the fates of men; Urd (past), Verdandi (present), Skuld (future). When Ymir was fed to her daughters, we can assume one inherited the founding titan, representing the past, and one inherited the attack titan, representing the future.
I believe Sina, the youngest, inherited the founding titan because the royal family resided in the innermost wall, named after herself. The oldest, Maria inherited the attack titan as Eren lived within Wall Maria. Rose could've inherited the colossal or maybe the other titans.
And when Eren frees himself of his shackles and then finally freeing Ymir of her fate, the rumbling initiates, AOT's version of Ragnarok.
"Fenrisúlfr will be free. Fenrisúlfr will go forth with his mouth opened wide, his upper jaw touching the sky and his lower jaw the earth, and flames will burn from his eyes and nostrils."
Maybe the wall titans could be Fire Jotuns of Muspelheim, as they emit heat from their bodies, with Eren being Surtr, or maybe even Ragnarok incarnate.
"In the midst of this clash and din, the heavens are rent in twain,
and the sons of Muspell come riding through the opening.
Surtr rides first, and before him and after him flames burning fire.
He has a very good sword, which shines brighter than the sun."

I think the story is going to end with Eren killing the majority of the population. Soon after, he will meet his demise and the world will start anew with the remaining population on the Island.
"At that time earth will rise out of the sea and
be green and fair, and fields of corn will grow that were never
sown. Vidar and Vali will be living, so neither the sea nor
Surt’s Fire will have done them injury, and they will inhabit
Idavoll where Asgard used to be."

Idavoll would be Paradis Island.
