The total mobilization state (roughly 1800-present), at least its peacetime version, has become suffocating to human life. We are seeing mass euthanization of the population as a result (fentanyl, netflix, consumable identity, muh career).

Two responses:
Response #1: The total mobilization state is incomplete! We need to figure out how to sustain purposeful mobilization of our entire society (perhaps towards limitless expansion into space), and extend scientific management out to include human capital.
Response #2: The total mobilization state is inherently disordered. We need to escape it, tear it down, wait it out, or reach a negotiated detente such that human life is able to stably exist outside of its grip, or in a protected niche.
The adherents of these philosophies hate each other, but perhaps we need a combination of both, a new synthesis of total mobilization with total life.
Response #3: this while thing is great. The individual has never been so liberated from the bonds and pains of harsh pre-modern life. Biological continuity doesn't matter, we just have to keep bringing people into the workforce and bring the comforts of modern life to everybody.
