1.On the 56th anniversary of the death of Joseph Boakye Danquah, myself and other colleagues engaged Dr.Daniel Appiah on JB Danquah’s last letter to Nkrumah before his death in Nsawam prisons. I opined that Nkrumah was very callous in his treatment of Dr.Danquah. My opinion

2.Without prejudice to all the distractions people saw Dr.Danquah’s activities to be for the Nkrumah regime, I personally believe Nkrumah was callous toward his old friend, too callous to have detained him in Nsawam instead of a place comparable to where the Brits kept the big six
At the time of these happenings, I believe there was enough “glory” for everyone contributing to nation building to share if only Nkrumah was a more accommodating person and tolerated his old friends a bit more.
Dr.Danquah died under circumstances under which I believe he would have lived longer without, all his ideas dead with him, never to be known in their full manifestation just because his friend couldn’t tolerate and involve him, even when he begged for clemency.
Nkrumah was great but tolerance doesn’t seem to be one of his many good talents.
Very important lessons excerpted from Dr. Appiah’s response.
Very important lessons excerpted from Dr. Appiah’s response.

1. J. B. Danquah's death was unfortunate and tragic. He believed too much in his specialized "talents" and saw himself as the most intellectually brilliant Ghanaian. His boastings and ceaseless ridicule of Nkrumah's ideas of African Unity could still be seen in his prison letter.
2.Maybe, if his last letter portrayed a new found faith in Christianity, as well as a deeply humbled person desirous to help Nkrumah build a United Ghana, it would have turned the heart of Nkrumah.
3.Never boast about your outstanding earthly achievements before your bitter enemies, especially from the prison of your most bitter enemy. Rather, be like a Joseph in prison and pray for the success of your bitter enemies.
4.His boastings about his special intellectual prowess and his criticism of Nkrumah's African Unity agenda was more likely to have hardened Nkrumah's heart to keep him in prison till death. In contrast, Nkrumah's equal measure of arrogance led to his overthrow and failure.
5.Dr.Danquah mentioned in his letter that he played a key part in bringing the radical Nkrumah from England in 1947 to help them end colonialism. Surely, Nkrumah ended the lives of both colonialism and Danquah.
6. Be careful of the person's that you bring to fight against your enemies. After victory is won, they are likely to turn back on you and fight against your claim to stardom! End.
Most important lesson to learn:
1. Never hold your best talents in high esteem when seeking reprieve from your haters, they don’t care about what you’re good at.
2. Be careful who you go to war with, wrong compatriots will eliminate you just for a lion’s share of glory.
