I just wanted to note a personal story. So my wife and I used to go to the cafe all the time pre-COVID.

So the meal was about $23 and he looks at me and said he was sorry and I could leave without paying.
That didn’t feel right. So I went to BMO and took out some cash and left the change.
He didn’t expect me to return and was completely gracious....

The man has called me a prince every time I have visited since and when price menus went up a bit he had the waitress hit us with the old menu prices so the cost never went up.
It warms my heart knowing he’ll never have to be anxious about a broken debit machine and $23 again.

Like to think this is just karma for the gratitude he’s always had for customers.
