I think I figured out why as much as I am in support of body positivity and players have so much creative say, the new #dnd muppet show just made me feel gross.

And it all comes down to one thing.... Marketing

Now just to be up front I don't have a problem with sexuality, expressing your sexual identity or just some R rated humor. This is all perfectly valid and fine as long as you make sure that everyone is on the same page (ie. why session zero and safety cards etc. are so important)
But this new show, everything comes down to the marketing. I don't think I saw one mention in all the tweets that I saw or articles that I read that this was going to be an "ADULT NOT FOR KIDS" dnd show.

And that comes down to the marketing.
You CANNOT have a show like this and not put content warning or labels on it. Especially when some of your audience could be triggered by scenarios that are protrayed in the show. Not to mention that WOTC is marketed as a "family friendly" company and this definitely isn't... 3/
And that's okay for brands to step outside of their comfort zone but you have to make sure that you let your audience know beforehand. It's seriously not okay and really not fair to them to let them go into this show expecting 90's Muppet and instead getting Avenue Q.

If you want to do this kinda show it's fine. But you have to make sure that your audience understands what they are about to watch. CR for example says right up front that they are not a "kid friendly" dnd show. And that's fine, but it's there on the label.

Not everything needs to be family friendly but things that aren't need to make sure that they come with content warnings and labels. And in this regard what this show has done is unacceptable and quite frankly for that reason I will not be watching.

PS. Also this isn't about the busty puppet. There have been large chested puppets in the past (looks at Miss Piggy) and honestly that is fine. It comes down to the whiplash marketing created when they were promoting this show.
PPS. Unless I am mistaken all of these episodes have been prerecorded so there is zero excuse as to why there isn't a content warning on the videos somewhere because this stuff is rated R at least for "Adult Viewing Only" and should be labeled as such.
