Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is on the House floor describing how she went down the QAnon rabbit hole after getting sucked in through the internet:
“The problem about that is I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true … and that is absolutely what I regret.”
She’s unequivocally saying that school shootings and 9/11 were real. Segues into saying that kids should be protected at school and then pivots to:

“Cancel culture is a real thing, it is very real.”
“These were words of the past and these things do not represent me, they do not represent my district and they do not represent my values,” Greene says of her past posts and interactions on social media.
Her final words include “the media that is just as guilty as QAnon of presenting truth and lies to divide us” which is absolutely not true, but …
There’s a lot to unpack in the MTG speech, but her description of getting sucked into QAnon is worth pondering in the macro. It’s very hard for anyone to admit being conned, which makes it hard to break people free from conspiracies/cults/etc.
Mockery doesn’t help that process.
I’m getting the sense that some people either are choosing to not read the words “in the macro” or don’t understand what that means...
