You can disagree with @AOC’s policy positions -- many Democrats do! -- but she actually *has* policy positions. I’ve long argued that she’s more akin to Paul Ryan in the 1990s but Republicans, even many Democrats, refuse to see that. (Hence the annoying “Always on Camera” digs)
I saw Ryan a lot on TV in the late ‘90s. It’s how he made a name for himself.
And you can think the Green New Deal is doo-doo. I wasn’t crazy about Ryan’s proposals either. However, those are, you know, “ideas.” Marjorie Taylor Greene has none.
What’s her value add? She opposes gun safety legislation? Get in line behind almost rational members of her caucus.
No, she’s just a rightwing shock jock.
But this is a common GOP error. They refuse to see any positive traits in their political opponents. They say “MTG is our AOC” because Greene uses social media a lot and Democrats don’t like her.
Reminds me of how the GOP seriously believed Rubio was going to be their Obama. They considered Obama an empty suit, so of course Rubio would fit the bill. Rubio lacks any of the moral leadership Obama has demonstrated.
