I have been going through a phase of low for a while now. First I thought it could be physical, later I snubbed it thinking it could be because of other stressors (being locked in a house for months)
But it persisted. Gradually clutched me real tight. It pushed be into feeling extremely exhausted all the time, insecure, insufficient. It trapped me in my room.
I tried reaching out to people around me for help, but probably I could not really explain to them the gravity of what was happening. They moved on from the topic thinking it is one of my 'phases'.
I tried figuring it out myself, but, that only pushed me into a deeper hole. Anyway, I have decided to seek professional help now to figure this out. It is never anybody else's responsibility.
Also, speaking about mental health, accepting and addressing it does not make you weak. One more take away: men really need to educate themselves on this. No, it is not a matter of pride. Men should normalise speaking to other men about their mental health without hesitation.
