as someone who often bookmarks fic tweets/threads when they first roll around with the intention of "getting it to it soon" and then gets overwhelmed the second they try to wade through the enormous mess of bookmarks, i love mdzstbt as a concept and would go so far as to suggest
that people retweet their own works (fic, threads, art, etc) without specific cause or reason, just because, whenever they feel like it! especially bc the algorithm DOES bury stuff a lot and new people will discover older things more easily this way
dgmw i retweet my own things for weeks and intermittently thereafter because i love attention and positive feedback, but everyone else should do it because i like consuming great fan content that has been delivered to my eyeholes on a platter. this is all about me.
okay but less jokey i DO often see people (sometimes even myself) be like 'this is the final bump i promise!!!' like it's a burden?? to get the passive reminder??? that you put so much effort into something beautiful and are proud of???? sometimes it is that sixteenth bump when i
click at last, bc i am finally in a time/place where i can read/observe with my whole focus! sometimes it is the first tweet! i can only assume some others have a similar approach to like... fandom twitter consumption. so yes keep on sharing, in my very humble but correct opinion
also on a different yet related note: this is a huge fandom with so much good fic. self-promo the shit out of your own things!!! if u write something u think someone (me) will like, tell them (me) about it imo*
