About to do a thread about it, but before I do I want to see if anyone can guess - what’s the most corrupt law enforcement agency in Chicago?

they used to be the Sanitary District Police, and to give you an idea of how obscure they keep themselves, *they don’t even have a website*

how many cops do they have? dunno. they’re a kind of cop cryptid - Chicago-area cop anthropologists will very occasionally see one of their cars and be like ‘what is this????’

here’s a photo of possibly their current chief but there’s no way to tell. no there are no higher resolution versions

so why are they so quiet? plenty of police agencies that have no real reason to exist are endlessly self-aggrandising, but these guys are like the fucking Intelligence Support Activity. you haven’t heard of them, and if you have you haven’t

well. the answer would appear to be that ‘Chicago water reclamation district cop’ is the ultimate do-nothing job you give your failson or whatever as a favour

the district has a $2 billion - with a b - budget, and while most of that goes on actual water stuff there is a cop parasite on it just sucking off vast amounts of overtime. in 2015 there were 62 cops and they got 700,000 dollars in overtime alone

not at all uncommon for these guys to be pulling in over 100k a year. plus they get all of the perks of being a cop - other cops let you off stuff, lights on your car, carry a concealed weapon anywhere in the US, anyone touches you in a bar fight and they catch a felony, etc etc

but that’s just regular cop stuff. the really transcendent thing about these guys is that even by cop standards, they do nothing. and we know they do nothing because one of them was briefing a new hire and had his radio keyed the whole time. to a state police channel
