Gender identity exists within the brain, yes, and it is a pretty concrete thing (even concretely fluid for some), but your brain doesn't exist in isolation. Talking about hypotheticals of removing brains and putting them is all well and good, but it's untestable.
That's not to say that anything in the thread is wrong, just that from a philosophical/world view stand point, I personally don't like theories of gender, identity, the self that rely on mind-body duality.
