Anti-abortion people HAVE TO UNDERSTAND that the term "abortion" does not necessarily mean the same thing to every person.

If you say that you think abortion should be illegal, the average person might think you're against "medically necessary" abortions.
The average pro-choice person will see our opposition to abortion and interpret it as being opposed to what they understand to be "medically necessary abortions."
Anti-abortion people are known for saying "medically necessary abortions do not exist" which just plays into that narrative.

It's a misunderstanding that no side of this issue cares enough to resolve. So here, let me resolve it.
When anti-abortion people say "abortion" they usually mean "elective abortion," as in chosen, not done out of medical necessity.

When pro-abortion people say "abortion" they are usually including 3 types of abortions:
1. Elective
2. Medically necessary
3. Spontaneous
I know I've said this before but I'm saying it again because I've seen SO MANY problems arise out of not being clear with our terms.
Pro-lifers/anti-abortion people.
Please say you're against *elective* abortion. Adding this adjective costs you nothing and helps so much.
Pro-choicers/pro-abortion people, please understand that almost no prolifers are against medical procedures that save the woman's life that result in the death of the fetus.
Everyone,
Just listen to each other.
Seek to understand.
