Mike McCaul is among first to say Jan 6 was obviously DomTerr, he asks if there should be a DomTerr law. Witness Elizabeth Neumann supports that, arguing in part it's an equal justice issue.
Elissa Slotkin: "The post-9/11 era is over."

We need to end divisions between us.

Talks about the armed extremists in the MI Capitol and the Whitmer kidnapping attempt.
Slotkin now saying that domestic terrorism is about out fellow citizens.

So was a lot of Islamic extremism, but that got forgotten by practitioners.
"our fellow citizens."
Slotkin, btw, just got named Chair of terrorism and intel subcommittee. So what she says here carries particular weight.
Bennie Thompson is in his office. He has a lot of dead animals on the wall.
Elizabeth Neumann notes that there has been a habit of calling right wing terrorists "lone wolves" which serves to hide the entire network of extremism in which they operate.

A really important point.
Neumann corrects the claims that the people thrown off planes after Jan 6 probably weren't No Fly Listed by DHS, bc they got into secure area of airport. Probably airlines (which others had noted).

In some cases it was just based on mask refusal.
Neumann suggests that politicians also need to be held accountable for their incitement.
Bonnie Watson-Coleman talks about knowing they were safe but maybe not bc of COVID (remember she--a senior recent cancer survivor--got infected bc her asshole colleagues refused to wear masks).
Watson-Coleman now making the same mistake a lot of other people did abt whether Jenny Cudd has gotten permission to go to MX. Also raises Riley Williams.

(She's also, as many people do, comparing State v Federal bail practices.)
Jonathan Greenblatt of Anti-Defamation League, when asked abt QAnon, says that if you believe in Jewish Space Lazers you have no business being in Congress (tho he said it even better).
