One wife is for the weak men who fear they cannot be just, contrastingly there are ‘ulema who supported polygyny.

قال تعالى : ".. فانكِحُوا ما طابَ لكم من النِّساء مثْنَى وثُلاثَ ورُبَاع فإنْ خِفْتُمْ ألَّا تعْدِلُوا فوَاحِدةً أوْ ما ملَكَت أيْمَانُكم .."

And That’s it, this thread was just to show how some salāf gave importance to polygyny (which was the practice of the majority of the salaf and companions) over monogamy, a practice which is being looked down because of the indoctrination of the secularism
